•   Description and Schedule:

This course is intended for individuals with experience in surgery and interest in microsurgery who want to learn the basic technique and extend their knowledge. The course is limited to 14 participants and concentrates on practice and operating techniques.

The course will review and demonstrate the instruments, sutures and magnification aids necessary for microsurgery. Participants will be taught basic and advanced suturing techniques for blood vessels and nerves using hands on teaching methods on artificial, cadaver and animal models. Experienced microsurgeons will share their experience and tricks of the trade. Clinical lectures on using microsurgery in various situations will be included. The postoperative monitoring and management including management of complications will also be discussed.

The participants of this course will be taught and guided by an experienced team of microsurgeons who have been performing microsurgery for many years as an integral part of their everyday work in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery or Maxillo-facial Surgery.

All participants who successfully complete the course and written, oral and practical exam will receive a certificate.
