After several months of intensive construction work, preparation, and technical implementation, the project of building and commissioning a new invasive laboratory at the Department of Cardiology, Dubrava University Hospital, was successfully completed this week.
On this occasion, the Department staff were welcomed by members of the Hospital Management Board, led by the Director, Prof. Ivica Lukšić, MD, PhD, as well as by the Head of the Department of Cardiology, Prof. Šime Manola, MD, PhD, FESC. Both emphasized the importance of continuous development in invasive and interventional cardiology and the ongoing investment in modern healthcare infrastructure.
With the opening of the new laboratory, the Department of Cardiology now operates a total of three fully equipped invasive laboratories, capable of performing the most advanced diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiology procedures. The new facility has been designed and equipped according to the latest standards, with the goal of providing even higher-quality, safer, and more efficient care for cardiovascular patients.
The additional capacity will enable an increased volume of patient care, shorter waiting lists for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and further development of complex interventional and invasive electrophysiology treatments performed daily at Dubrava University Hospital.
This project represents an important milestone in the continued growth of the Department and confirms our ongoing commitment to advancing cardiovascular care while improving working conditions for healthcare professionals.
