New Technology for the Treatment of Arrhythmias at Dubrava University Hospital

Over the past few days, the first ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation and atypical atrial flutter were successfully performed at Dubrava University Hospital using the advanced Affera 3D cardiac mapping system and the Sphere-9 ablation catheter. Three patients were treated efficiently and safely, with a very smooth procedural workflow and encouraging outcomes.

This modern technology enables precise three-dimensional mapping of the heart’s electrical activity and targeted treatment of complex cardiac arrhythmias. A key feature of the Affera system is its dual ablation approach, which combines two energy modalities within a single catheter, thereby increasing procedural precision and flexibility.

This represents the first dual-energy technology and the fourth pulsed field ablation (PFA) technology available to our patients, further expanding the therapeutic options at University Hospital Dubrava for the modern and safe treatment of complex arrhythmias.

We would like to thank the entire multidisciplinary team for their collaboration and dedicated work, which made the successful implementation of this new technology in clinical practice possible.
