Dubrava University Hospital recognizes quality as one of the fundamental values for defining goals and action strategies in the provision of health care. Achieving and improving quality is based on the principles of efficiency, suitability and safety of patients, staff and all health procedures.
In September 2011, the Department of Healthcare Quality Assurance and Improvement was established as part of the quality system organization, and the first manager was mrs. Mira Purgarić, MD.
The highest quality of healthcare service would mean to fulfil all expectation of those who form the center of the quality system – patients and hospital employees. Orientation towards the service user, teamwork, understanding of the systems, processes and adaptation to changes is a constant of the Department.
The main tasks of the Department of Healthcare Quality Assurance and Improvement are permanent monitoring and improvement of the quality of clinical and non-clinical procedures, monitoring the safety of patients and staff, monitoring the management of medical records, monitoring the rights and satisfaction of patients and hospital staff, controlling hospital infections, keeping records of deaths and autopsies, monitoring side effects of drugs and adverse events related to medical products, conducting internal evaluation and monitoring of the health care quality assurance and improvement system, all in accordance with the regulation.
The work of the Department is closely related to the work of the Quality Commission. In all segments of our operations, we follow global medical standards in order to achieve business excellence and top-notch continuous medical care.
There are two units within the Department of Healthcare Quality Assurance and Improvement: the Unit for Infections Control and the Unit for Medical Documentation and Information.
The Clinical Institute for Laboratory Diagnostics is ACCREDITED ACCORDING TO HRN EN ISO 15189:2012 STANDARDS until December 4, 2024 for tests in the field of clinical chemistry, laboratory hematology and coagulation, laboratory immunology and molecular diagnostics.
