The Central Operating Unit, an independent organizational unit, provides treatment and care for patients requiring surgical intervention. There are 19 operating theaters in the Dubrava University Hospital, 13 of which are located on the ground floor, and 6 of which are dislocated. The operating theaters have central air conditioning and are equipped with high-tech equipment. More than 14,000 elective and emergency surgical procedures are performed annually. The planning and operation of the operating theater requires the training of surgical teams. Surgical procedures are performed in individual rooms depending on the type of activity and the specifics of the individual operations. Doctors and nurses from other hospitals and universities are trained in our operating theaters.

Special attention is paid to the education of surgical nurses and technicians, and further training outside the hospital and active participation in congresses and the publication of articles in professional journals at home and abroad is continuously promoted.
