The Department of Internal Medicine is the largest department in Dubrava University Hospital and is one of the leading departments in Croatia in all its segments. Within the Department, there are seven Divisions and two Reference Centers of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia.
Our healthcare professionals are recognised as experts in their field, possessing advanced medical knowledge and clinical skills necessary for the treatment of patients with the most complex and challenging internal medicine diseases.
Special emphasis is placed on the treatment of pancreatobiliary system and liver diseases, autologous bone marrow transplantation, the diagnosis and treatment of systemic autoimmune or inflammatory diseases, obstructive and interstitial lung diseases, glomerular kidney diseases, diabetes, and thyroid diseases.
The Department employs the most modern treatment methods and medical procedures for patients requiring treatment in the intensive care units. More than half of our specialists have PhD degree and most of them hold a teaching position at the University of Zagreb. The Department of Internal Medicine is a teaching base of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry of the University of Zagreb. Strong orientation and dedication towards scientific and teaching activities indicates the Department is a place where medical science, culture and profession are developed and where new generations of outstanding doctors and specialists are created.
