The Department of Nuclear Medicine specializes in nuclear medicine procedures that use small amounts of radioactive substances to create images of the body’s internal structures and functions. These scans can help in the diagnosis of various medical conditons by providing detailed information about organ function, blood flow, and metabolism. Although radioactive substances are used in nuclear medicine, the radiation exposure you are exposed to during the examination is very low and is considered safe. We strictly adhere to radiation protection protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

In 2019, we commissioned a state-of-the-art SPECT/CT camera, which expands our capabilities and allows us to offer even more precise and comprehensive imaging services. SPECT/CT is a hybrid imaginig technique that combines the functional information of SPECT with the anatomical detail of CT scans. We use this technology to perform a variety of diagnostic scans, including bone scans, thyroid scans, myocardial perfusion imaging and other common nuclear medicine procedures using radioactive tracers. Our radiochemistry laboratory ensures the precise preparation of radiopharmaceuticals, guaranteeing accurate dosing and patient safety.

We also offer ultrasound examinations of the neck, which enable a thorough examination of the thyroid gland, lymph nodes, salivary glands and other diseases of the neck.

In addition, we offer DEXA scans to assess bone mineral density, which helps in the detection and treatment of osteoporosis.

In addition to diagnostics, we are also dedicated to the treatment of thyroid disorders and osteoporosis. Our experienced team works closely with healthcare providers to develop personalized treatment plans tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
