Division activities
In the division, all vascular and cardiac diagnostic procedures, as well as endovascular and other non-vascular interventional procedures under the supervision of imaging methods are performed.
In 2023, the division’s radiological equipment was upgraded with funding from the European Union. Currently, the division has two angiography suites equipped with state-of-the-art monoplane and biplane devices for interventional procedures.
Diagnostic procedures performed
CT angiography of all regions with or without ECG guidance, coronary CT angiography, cardiac CT, including protocols for ablations and transcatheter valve implantations, MR angiography, cardiac MR following multiparametric protocols, cardiac MR perfusion, digital subtraction angiography (DSA) of all regions.
Interventional procedures performed
Ultrasound or CT-guided biopsies, drainage procedures, biliary procedures, including percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage and transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt, power port system implantation, US or CT-guided microwave ablation, peripheral artery and/or vein percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and stenting, including carotid artery interventions, thrombolysis and thrombectomy of peripheral arteries and/or veins, vena cava filter implantation, arterial and/or venous embolizations, discography, interventional procedures for patients with AV malformations, endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR).
The division provides 24-hour interventional radiology service and an interventional radiologist is on call outside regular working hours. An interventional radiology outpatient clinic is held every Tuesday, offering initial assessments and follow-up appointments with the interventional radiologist.
