The doctors and nurses in the department are obliged to provide all information about the patient’s state of health and the treatment procedures. The patient is free to contact them at any time if they deem it neccessary.
It is important that the patient informs the doctor that is in charge about the following:
- Any medication they are already taking (prescription, over-the-counter, homeopathic preparations, vitamins…)
- Allergic reactions caused by a medication (e.g. penicillin), food or other allergens
- Smoking habits or consumption of other substances that may cause addiction
During the hospital stay, the care is provided by a doctor that is in charge and a nurse or a medical technician. There is also supporting staff that assists with the various diagnostic procedures in the hospital.
If the doctor in charge considers that the treatment requires the collaboration of several professionals, they will convene a consultation team with whom they will discuss the further course of the patient’s treatment.
