In the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry, all dental appliances (crowns and removable prostheses – complete, partial) approved by the Croatian Health Insurance Fund (CHIF) are made, according to the prescribed standars. Within the Department, there is also a periodontology practice, where patients obtain periodontal treatment (removal of dental calculus, treatment of gingivitis, etc.), either as a basic therapy, or as a necessary therapy prior to prosthetic treatment. In addition to these “standardised” procedures prescribed by the CHIF, all other modern diagnostic-therapeutic procedures of prosthetic therapy are also performed and charged according to the price list of the Dubrava University Hospital. The  Department is located on the ground floor of Dubrava University Hospital at the end of the Outpatient Clinic of the hospital under the code P9. It has 8 well-equipped dental offices and a modern dental laboratory (code P7).

Initial examinations for patients: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 15:00

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

It can be stated that the specialists working in the Department are a good and successful combination of experience on the one hand and youth and ambition on the other. In addition to the  continuous education and training of all members of the prosthetic team (specialist, nurse-dental assistant and dental technicians), this ensures that the Department maintains its long-standing quality level. All known and recognized diagnostic-therapeutic procedures in the field of dental prosthetics and periodontology are performed. What distinguishes this Department from other similar institutions is its long experience and successful performance of complex prosthetic oral rehabilitations of oncological (surgical) patients and patients with orofacial deformities, which is the result of many years of cooperation with the Department of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery. The early start of education and work in the field of dental implantology and temporomandibular joint disorders has also expanded the possibilities of treatment and prosthetic rehabilitation of our patients. Given the very dynamic changes and advances in the field of prosthodontics, it has been necessary to introduce new technologies, materials and protocols into the practice.
It is of course necessary to constantly educate the professionals (specialists) and their associates (dental technicians, nurses/dental assistants) in order to create the conditions for the introduction of new, modern materials and technologies that correspond to the modern achievements of the profession, with the aim of constantly improving the quality of our services.
